Bluebay Beach Resort, Zanzibar Island
Bluebay Beach Resort is situated on the finest wide, white, sandy beach on the island of Zanzibar. Located on the East Coast in an area known as Kiwengwa, the hotel is only 35 minutes drive from the town and the airport on a recently built tarmac road. Some 61 junior suite cottages are built at this excellent East Coast beach area (26 of which facing the sea, under a beautiful palm- grove or on a small hill, available for a supplement). Built under “makuti” thatch and furnished with traditional Zanzibar furniture, these suites comprise: entrance through private garden, breathtaking view veranda, mosquito net, ample bedroom, dressing room, bathroom in Carrara marble, ceiling fan, independent air conditioning, hot and cold running water, hair-dryer, telephone and minibar.

At this resort there are also 28 standard rooms which are built as well under “makuti” thatch and furnished with traditional Zanzibar furniture, these rooms comprise: bedroom, wardrobe, bathroom in Carrara marble, balcony, mosquito net, ceiling fan, independent air conditioning, hot and cold running water, hair-dryer, telephone and minibar.

Zanzibar Serena Inn, Zanzibar Island
Each room is cool, white and constructed to the traditional design of a Swahili house, which is dependant upon the length of the mangrove poles that make up its ceilings. Adorned with arched niches, antique plates and brass lamps and featuring traditionally carved furniture, cool-ceramics, intricate fretwork, draped beds and louver doors giving onto wrought-iron balconies overlooking the Persian-bath pool and azure bay beyond, each room reflects a blend of essential Zanzibar and world-class elegance.
